Everything Sofieberga.co offers is for general information, education and emotional preparation. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. This applies to the Bastian Adventure books, the upcoming Bastian app, these websites, emails and coaching.

1. Information only, not medical advice

Sofie Berga is a registered pediatric nurse with almost 30 years of experience. Her books and materials draw on that experience to help children and parents feel calmer and better prepared.

They do not replace advice from your child's doctor, nurse or other qualified health professional. Never ignore professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read, watched or heard from Sofieberga.co.

2. No nurse–patient relationship

Reading the books, using the app, signing up for emails or contacting Sofie does not create a nurse–patient or any other healthcare relationship. Sofie cannot assess, advise on or answer questions about a specific child's medical condition or treatment.

3. Always follow your child's care team

Your child's doctors and nurses know your child and their condition. If anything in our materials differs from what they tell you, follow their instructions. Talk to them before changing anything about your child's care, medication, fasting or preparation for a procedure.

In an emergency, call your local emergency number straight away.

4. Procedures differ

The books and app show common procedures such as surgery, X-rays, CT scans, IVs and casts in a simplified, child-friendly way. Real procedures vary between hospitals, countries and children. Your child's experience may be different from what the story shows.

5. Coaching is not therapy or medical care

Coaching with Sofie supports parents with mindset and family life. It is not psychotherapy, counselling, medical care or a substitute for them. If you or your child need mental health or medical support, please contact a qualified professional.

6. Your responsibility and our liability

You are responsible for how you use our materials with your child. We work to keep the information accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee it is complete or correct for every situation. To the extent the law allows, Sofieberga.co is not liable for any loss or harm arising from use of our books, app, websites or coaching. Nothing in this disclaimer limits liability that cannot be limited under Danish law.
